It was great meeting everybody at the National Rural Health Conference.

Congratulations to Anne Knight from Te Kauwhata, who won a chocolate lovers hamper when she visited our stand. A well deserving winner who made the journey from her practice near Auckland, down to Dunedin to attend the National Rural Health Conference.

The conference had a hugely successful turnout, with some highflying speakers to keep everybody entertained. The list included: Health Minister Dr Jonathan Coleman, Nigel Latta, a psychologist, author and TV personality, and Matt Vickers, the husband of the late Wellington lawyer Lecretia Seales.

The conference attracted over 500 attendees, 90 who were students in medicine, nursing, midwifery, or pharmacy. This is the highest turnout to our annual conference yet! With a growing number of young health professionals taking an interest in rural New Zealand, the future looks bright.
