We welcome Freddi and Jelle to New Zealand

Dr Phyllis (Freddi) Pennington from the USA, and Dr Jelle Peulen from the Netherlands have recently arrived on our shores and attended our three-day orientation.

The last session of the course saw them taking a stroll along the waterfront, with course co-ordinator Louise Pert, before attending the museum's Maori cultural tour. With a cloudy view out to Matiu Somes Island this shot was inadvertently taken with a fish that wanted to join the proceedings. Spot the opportunist!

Freddi will be spending six months working in the Taranaki region while Jelle will spend a whole year near Lake Taupo.  We wish them a memorable time here and they're certainly off to a good start.
