Our point of difference

Unlike other recruitment agencies, we are a not-for-profit service with expertise in both rural and urban recruitment.

Our biggest point of difference – we are free for rural practices and doctors!

We work with general practitioners, family physicians, and nurse practitioners looking for work throughout New Zealand. We also work with rural and urban practices throughout New Zealand requiring recruitment services.

We offer our support throughout the entire recruitment process, even if you have already begun the recruitment process.

As a division of Hauora Taiwhenua Rural Health Network, a collective organisation to advocate for the health and wellbeing of all rural communities in New Zealand, we are surrounded by health professionals who live and breathe rural health and rural New Zealand.

Get the best introduction to the New Zealand Health System

Attend our renowned three-day orientation course to get the best introduction to New Zealand’s health system.

Held monthly in our Wellington Office, our orientation course is the first step into the New Zealand health system for international doctors.

This course is endorsed by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP), and is approved for up to 17.5 CME credits for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) purposes.

Our Current Vacancies

We have vacancies throughout New Zealand just waiting to be filled by you. From Kaitaia at the top of the North Island to Bluff at the bottom of the South Island and everywhere in between, we can find a role in your desired location.

Testimonials / Whakaaturanga

I really enjoyed working with NZLocums. Jenny was a great facilitator in the process. The orientation course provides a good introduction to the health care system in New Zealand.

It is a lot of paperwork, but with the support offered, everything worked out well.

Dr Mads Dannesbo, Denmark

The orientation course was very nice: well organised, interesting speakers and it gave a good impression about the NZ Health System and the differences with the Netherlands.

Dr Tonnie van Hirtum, Netherlands

Brilliant (Orientation) course that worked well virtually and gave a good idea of how New Zealand GP life will be and what we need to know. Would recommend.

Dr Naomi Le May, UK

NZLocums are the experts in helping GPs find a job in New Zealand which suits their needs. They nurse you through the registration and immigration process and have a great induction program. Because they are a not-for-profit organisation they do what’s needed to
keep everyone happy and safe, not what makes them a profit.

Dr William Hall, UK
