Role

We are looking for a permanent and 3 month locum (30/11/22 to 28/2/23) for a General Practitioner (Family Medicine physician) to work for a Practice in Auckland city.

The ideal candidate is someone who wants to be part of our community practice, be able to make a difference in whanau (family) lives, able to multi task, able to work under pressure, and be an amazing team player.

Renumeration is negotiable.

Location

Role

We are looking for a General Practitioner (Family Medicine physician) to work 8 sessions (4 days) per week with light on-call commitment.

The ideal candidate would be an experienced GP who is able to build a good rapport with patients. Your skills and contribution will be valued in the Wairarapa; General Practitioners and their families are welcomed into the community.

The Practice will reimburse Medical Protection Insurance (MPS) and Medical Council fees on completion of three months of continued employment. There is also a long service bonus after three years continued service.

Benefits

We have an excellent remuneration package including long service bonus of $25,000 NZD after three years continued service or $50,000 NZD after five years of continued service. There is a relocation assistance of up to $5,000 NZD to cover airfare and freight for relocation and six weeks accommodation and rental care.

The Practice will also reimburse Medical Protection Insurance (MPS) and Medical Council fees on completion of three months of continued employment.

Practice

The practice has approximately 5000 enrolled patients, with GPs seeing on average 18-20 patients each per day. Working in the practice are 5 General Practitioners and 2 practice nurses. Surgery hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm. The practice uses the Medtech 32 computerised patient management system.

The closest base hospital is 17 kilometres away, on the outskirts of Masterton. Masterton Hospital covers all aspects of secondary health care including medical, surgical, obstetric, paediatric, assessment and rehabilitation for young and older adults, high dependency care and mental health. Also provided are a 24-hour acute/emergency service and an ambulance service.

Location

Wairarapa is a region of spectacular coastlines, wide valleys and small towns. It’s known for its vineyards, gourmet food, walking and cycling trails – and a vibrant arts scene. All about an hour’s drive or train ride from Wellington.

First settled by Maori in the 1300s, the Wairarapa later became a farming area known for its meat and butter.  Farming’s still important, but so is forestry, fishing and horticulture. Today the Wairarapa’s popular with holidaymakers – but also with young families who are moving here to enjoy a slower pace of life and a strong sense of community. Wairarapa has a number of primary and secondary schools. When you visit, you’re sure of a warm welcome.

We are the only private medical clinic in the Buller region.

Our clinic is open on Monday to Fridays and there will be requirements to work the occasional weekend clinic. (2-4pm Saturday and Sunday)

Location

Westport is a small town in the Buller district surrounded by beautiful tree clad mountains and situated next to the sea.  In the last 10 years mining, tourism and agriculture have expanded and the area has experienced a renaissance. Subsequently younger families have moved into the area and the demographics have become more vibrant.  If you want to get away from it all the West Coast is for you with sub-tropical rainforests, lots of walks including the Heaphy Track, Punakaiki’s Pancake Rocks and blowholes, a seal colony, arts and crafts and surfing. It is steeped in history from its gold mining and whitebait fishing.

For the outdoor enthusiasts, there are a huge variety of adventure and recreation activities on offer. Cycle the easy West Coast Wilderness Trail or take advantage of the quad bike tours, caving and white-water rafting.

Location

Leeston is a town on the Canterbury Plains in the South Island of New Zealand. It is located 40 kilometres southwest of Christchurch, between the shore of Lake Ellesmere and the mouth of the Rakaia River. The town supports the local farming industry, but has all the necessities of many bigger townships such as a supermarket, schools, churches, hospital (for elderly care only) and a small swimming pool.
