Role

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic General Practitioner (Family Medicine physician) to join a rural practice in a small, friendly town.

This is a 6 month fixed term position.

Practice

This owner operator practice is situated in the heart of Bulls with approximately 5,000 enrolled patients. This practice is currently piloting Patient Portal, which allows patients to access their personal health information online, through the secure Manage My Health website.

The practice has 4 part time GP’s, 5 part time Nurses, 4 Receptionist and 1 Practice Manager.

Location

Bulls is a small town near bigger city, Palmerston North on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is in a fertile farming area in the Rangitikei District at the junction of State Highways 1 and 3 about 135 kilometres (84 mi) north of Wellington. According to a June 2019 Statistics New Zealand estimate, Bulls has a population of 1,850 inhabitants.

Bulls is only 2 to 3 hours from tourist destinations like Mount Ruapehu (where you can enjoy skiing), Taupo Lake, and hot summer beaches in the Hawkes Bay.

Bulls has two co-educational state primary schools for Year 1-8 students. Bulls School was established in 1867 and is the oldest school in Rangitkei; it has a roll of 152 as of March 2020. Clifton School, which opened more recently on the southern end of the township, has a roll of 179.
