We are looking for a permanent or long term GP to join a friendly and supportive team. The role is for 8 to 10 sessions per week with on-call 1:4 at the local community Hospital. The ideal candidate is a GP who is flexible to move across all sites and a team member with a sense of humour!
Accommodation and vehicle assistance is provided.
This centre employs up to five GP’s, seven practice nurses and support staff. The principal GP’s are vocationally registered. A number of them work part-time and are involved in supporting the provision of maternity services.
Clinical excellence and forward thinking plays a huge part in this well run practice. The staff all network effectively on a district and regional-wide basis for clinical governance. As the practice holds a rural teaching programme, they encourage young and trainee GPs, nurses and midwifes through their facility.
Dannevirke has a population of around 6200, is a family-focussed town with a strong sense of community. It is situated in the Tararua District, which boasts two forest parks, three mountain ranges, rugged coastline, bush-covered valleys and nearly 300 kilometres of river network. The climate has defined seasons, with summer temperatures reaching above 30°C and cool winters.
The town is located only an hour’s drive to the bustling university city of Palmerston North and one and a half hour trip to the famous wine country – the Hawke’s Bay. If you would prefer to stay close to home then the local golf course, heated indoor pool, Ruahine Ranges and the Manawatu River are all easily accessible.
