A GP or GP couple is sought for this Gisborne based general practice. This urban clinic is based on the outskirts of Gisborne, and has strong community involvement. The patient base is largely low socio-economic, and the practice staff are extremely committed to improving the health incomes of the community.
The practice is seeking two GPs to join their team, each working 4.5 or 5 days per week.
With 500 registered patients, the clinic has 16 offices, a treatment room and a small room used to take bloods. The staff is made up of three permanent GPs, three practice nurses, one chronic care nurse, one Kaiawhina (community support worker), four reception staff, and one practice manager. There is also a number of community support services co-located.
This is a Maori based and family (whanau) centred practice with a strong focus on team work. Staff are encouraged to participate in planning, delivery and review of services. The work is varied and interesting; including women’s health, child health, elderly and long term conditions, and GPs need to be aware of rheumatic fever.
They are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking and patient centred GP. You must be a good communicator with an interested in learning about the Maori culture.
