Role

We are looking for a General Practitioner (Family Medicine Physician) to join our friendly team. You would be working 5 days per week (but would consider a minimum of 3 days a week). There is on-call of one weekend every 3-4 months. There is an option to also cover A & E call if the GP wanted more hours.

The desired candidate should be very knowledgeable across many areas, relates well to patients, flexible, approachable, a team player and community minded.

The clinic is located on-site at the local hospital, and it is preferable (but not essential) that the successful applicant has experience with emergency medicine. The practice is pro-active and innovative, always looking to provide their community with the best health services available.

This is a family friendly clinic with lots of support staff, with 6 to 8 doctors on-site each day. All GPs have rostered paperwork time as well as peer support, tea breaks and journal club.

Benefits

A great remuneration package is on offer. A vehicle will be provided as well as Medical Council registration costs, medical indemnity insurance and CME costs paid for by the practice.

Depending on the circumstances the Practice will also pay for pay 2 to 3 months accommodation, flights, and relocation expenses.

Location

Gore is a town of approximately 12,000 people that services a wide rural community.  It has a strong community spirit with top class sporting and recreational facilities.  It is a family friendly town with four primary schools and two excellent secondary schools.  Gore is within close proximity to Dunedin, Invercargill and Queenstown with great fishing and parks. Gore’s weather is mild, warm in the summer and cooler in the winter.
