We are seeking a permanent GP who is bright, cheerful and efficient. A GP who can handle a variety of work and pressure as this is a semi-rural busy teaching practice. You would be working six to nine sessions per week with no on call requirements.
The GP practice has three other GP’s, three part time receptionists, a Practice Manager and three part time nurses. There are four doctor rooms, two nursing rooms, one counselling room and two treatment/surgery rooms. There are approximately 3600 enrolled patients with an average number of 26-30 patients per day. There is a high child and elderly patient base with one quarter being Maori.
Huntly lies beside New Zealand’s longest river, the Waikato River and is also home to the country’s largest thermal power station. The town is surrounded by lakes, walks and rich farmland and is 30 minutes to the nearest city of Hamilton. Huntly has all the amenities you need from shops, banks, churches, library and schools. The weather is pleasant all year round with warm summers and mild winters. Auckland City, Raglan beach, Waihi Beach and Nikau caves are only one hour away.
