Start date: 2 September 2019
- Beautiful Kapiti Coast
- Well-equipped practice, with excellent collegial support
- Only one hour from Wellington, capital city
We are seeking a General Practitioner to take up a permanent position in a large practice located on the beautiful Kapiti Coast.
The health centre is very well-equipped, with excellent collegial support. In addition to regular general practice they provide many specialist services, visiting specialists hold clinics on a regular basis.
The practice provides an acute clinic which the GPs cover on a rotating basis. As the clinic is one hour from Wellington Hospital, presentations are varied and interesting, and can include ambulance calls. The clinic services 5 rest homes in the region, therefore this is a regular part of the GP’s work.
If you are looking for a practice with a fun and supportive atmosphere and team of long standing GPs, this is a perfect opportunity. The staff also includes a large team of highly skilled nurses who provide excellent support.
GPs at this clinic see around 20-24 patients per day, although this can be higher when in the acute clinic.
The practice is seeking a GP to work 8 sessions (4 days) per week, and offering a very competitive remuneration.
Located on the beautiful Kapiti Coast, just one hour north of New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington, this is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the best of both worlds. With the Tararua Mountains to the west and Kapiti Island to the east, the setting is picturesque and also offers a range of outdoor activities and adventures.
The town has a population of around 10,000 people, who are very proud of their town and work together to keep it well cared for. Artists, craftspeople, schools, conservation groups, gardeners, businesses and other community groups do their bit in a concerted effort to keep the town looking beautiful. The local nature reserve provides a unique opportunity to learn about the natural history of New Zealand. Nearby you can explore swimming holes, walkways and popular white baiting spots.
Markets and events are held regularly, and art galleries, museums and heritage sites make the town an interesting place to live or visit.
