This dynamic practice is seeking a committed general practitioner to join the friendly team. The role is for 6 to 8 sessions- negotiable (3 to 4 days) with minimal after hours at the After-hours Centre in Tauranga.
The successful applicant will be hard-working, motivated and have a great sense of humour. The role will include a variety of case presentations from accident and emergency medicine to long term condition management.
This centre is cornerstone-accredited and a teaching practice. You will be part of a well-qualified team with excellent support from reception and nursing staff. All practice nurses are PRIME trained and attend callouts with the on-call GP.
The practice is growing and currently has around 9,000 enrolled patients. The patient demographic is predominately Caucasian, around 10% Māori and an increasing Pacific Island and Indian community. There is a fairly large elderly patient base (65 years+).
Katikati is a gorgeous town with a population of around 4,600. It is situated 30 minutes’ drive north of Tauranga in the North Island. With some of the best scenery New Zealand has on offer combined with a temperate coastal climate, many people from around the country and the world are considering Katikati an ideal place to live, work and play.
Schooling in the area ranges from pre-schools through to secondary schools. A private primary school is located in the area. There are a variety of services available in the centre of town, including two supermarkets, gift shops, clothing shops, butchers, cafes etc.
This is a growing community with great schools, art galleries, beaches and hiking trails nearby. Ski fields and major cities are around three hours drive away.
