We are seeking an enthusiastic GP to become part of a large team of GP partners and associates in this well-established Wairarapa based practice. This is a full time position (40 hours per week), though this could be negotiated for the right person. 8 hours per week will be set aside for paperwork.
The practice is based in a modern, purpose-built centre, with quality IT systems and a high standard of medical and nursing facilities. The team of experienced GPs provide solid peer and collegial support, and you will also work closely with a highly skilled and motivated nursing team. Additional support comes from the excellent administrative team, and all practice management is dealt with on a professional basis.
As a teaching practice, young and trainee GPs are encouraged to join their trainee intern, rural immersion, and registrar teaching programmes. Wairarapa Hospital provides 24 hour secondary care including medical, surgical, maternity and mental health services. This base hospital is only four minutes away from the practice and the GPs enjoy a strong collegial support base with the hospital specialists.
This is a great opportunity to join a progressive and friendly practice that is well managed and professionally serviced. The practice is busy and the partners are very committed to the business, but also encourage fun and laughter, and strong, respectful working relationships.
A very competitive salary is offered, with up to $10,000 relocation allowance.
Masterton, a town of 20,000, is the centre of the rural Wairarapa district. People choose to live here because of the excellent lifestyle choices together with first-class schooling facilities. Whilst you can enjoy benefits of a great environment, the capital city Wellington with all its delights, is only an hour and a half drive away.
Wairarapa means “Glistening Waters” and with New Zealand’s third largest lake and miles of coastline, it’s clear to see why. Travelling from Wellington through the Rimutaka Ranges, the beauty of the Wairarapa opens up before you, bush-clad ranges to the west across flat plains to a rugged coast on the east. The region is known for its hot, languid summers and provides a relaxing, refined lifestyle away from the pressures of metropolitan life.
Leave the city and enter a modern style of rural life that fully embraces the pleasures of good food and fine wine!
