We are seeking a permanent GP for a busy family practice in Napier. The clinic is located in a purpose-built medical centre, with a pharmacy, physiotherapy, radiology and a specialist suite onsite.
The practice is looking for an enthusiastic general practitioner who is keen to work as part of a team, alongside a group of experienced nurses, GPs and a practice manager. The staff are commitment to providing a quality medical service to the Napier community.
The position is 8 sessions (4 days) per week (negotiable), the practice is open 8am- 5.30pm Monday to Friday, and there is no afterhours requirement. Doctor appointments are 15 minutes with every fourth or fifth appointment being scheduled for administration.
The clinic is part of a group of three practices in Napier which offer patients a wide range of services, with general practice, accident and sports injury, minor surgery, acupuncture, functional medicine, and urgent care. Practice nurses also run a number of chronic care clinics. All their systems are fully computerised, allowing staff to access test results directly from the laboratory.
The practice has a very collegial atmosphere, with excellent support and opportunities to meet with colleagues. The staff also meet for social occasions outside of work.
Napier, the city by the sea, is renowned for its 1930s Art Deco architecture, events such as the Art Deco Weekend in February, stately Norfolk pines, surrounding wineries, local fresh produce and national tourist attractions.
With a warm climate, this popular year-round destination boasts a vibrant cafe culture amongst the splendor of the Art Deco buildings. Around 30 cafes are within walking distance of the central city area, while Ahuriri, just over Bluff Hill, is home to a further cluster of upmarket establishments.
Marine Parade overlooks the Pacific Ocean and out towards Cape Kidnappers, home to the world’s largest mainland gannet colony. A full day can be taken visiting Ocean Spa hot pools and swimming complex, the Hawke’s Bay Museum, the National Aquarium of New Zealand.
After a long day taking in the sights, revitalize yourself by sampling some of Hawke’s Bay’s award winning wines and fresh Bay produce from one of the many restaurant, café and winery menus.
