Role

A permanent General Practitioner (Family Medicine physician) is required in sunny Nelson. You will be working 4 to 6 sessions per week (2-3 days) with minimal on-call.

If you are dedicated and passionate, with sound communication skills then this is the role for you!

 

Practice

The practice has an established patient base with a broad and varied demographic.

There is an experienced and supportive team of 5 GPs, nurses, administration staff and additional services.
We are an accredited training practice and we take on final year medical students, junior hospital doctors and GP Registrars. GP registrars are fully qualified doctors who work in General Practice for 2 years in order to specialise as a General Practitioner.

Nelson is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes, with diverse geography capturing everything from long golden beaches to untouched forests and rugged mountains.

The Nelson/Tasman region often tops New Zealand’s sunshine hours. It also boasts productive tourism, wine, horticulture and fishing industries.

Nelson has several options for education. Tertiary level education is available from the Nelson Tasman Institute of Technology (NMIT). Nelson is also a popular destination for international students, especially those developing their skills with the English language. There are also plenty of schools and early childhood services.
