We are seeking an experienced GP for a fixed term or permanent position in a New Plymouth practice. The position is 8 sessions/4 days per week, covering both the walk-in and general practice clinics. Each GP session includes 12 patient consultations and one hour for paperwork.
The vacancy is in a large practice of 13 GPs, 9 of whom are owners, and 7 of whom have been with the practice for over 10 years. There is excellent support from the 15 experienced nurses, and also 15 other support staff. The practice has around 17,000 enrolled patients and also looks after a large number of non-enrolled patients via their extended services.
Attached to the GP clinic is a 7 consult room Walk-in Centre to cater for acute issues when patients cannot get to see their own GP. Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Radiology are located onsite, as well a dedicated Skin Cancer Centre including Mole Mapping, 2 Minor Op theatres, GP Skin Cancer doctors and visiting General and Plastic Surgeons. Various special interest areas including GP Dermatology, Skin Cancer Medicine, Musculoskeletal Medicine and Travel Medicine.
