The newly purpose-built medical centre in Raglan are looking to recruit a Nurse Practitioner to join their young and vibrant team for 7 to 10 sessions per week plus 1/8 PRIME call. The practice value a team approach to healthcare, with a strong emphasis on chronic care management, education and community-based care.
The position is suited to a self-motivated individual who enjoys a challenge. Your strong work ethic is matched by your equally strong sense of humour and collegial approach. Preferably you are PRIME trained or willing to complete training to fulfil the PRIME call requirement. A high level of flexibility and initiative is required, with the ability to easily form and maintain relationships.
With the recent move to their purpose-built premises, the practice has plenty of opportunity to help expand services and focus on special areas of interest.
You will be working with a motivated team of 6 GPs, 5 nurses and 2 medical centre assistants who are supported by 5 administration staff. The practice services a rural population of 5660 patients. The patient base is varied, ranging from farmers, Maori community, young families, retirees, alternative lifestylers and a steady influx of tourists and surfers.
The business has recently moved to a purpose-built clinic compromising of six doctor consult rooms, four specialist rooms, a minor surgery room, a 3 three bed emergency treatment area, a large meeting room & great team facilities.
We have ongoing in-house education sessions and have RNZCGP accreditation as a teaching practice with registrars & medical students on placements. The team have brief daily morning meetings to prioritise our day and to ensure everyone is supported in their roles. The team like to have fun and have shared morning tea or lunch on a regular basis and social events throughout the year.
Located 40 minutes’ drive west of Hamilton, Raglan is a picturesque seaside township rich in history, offering a variety of interesting attractions. It is arguably best known internationally for its high quality left hand surf breaks, but also boasts a pristine harbour which can be enjoyed through boating, kite surfing, fishing, kayaking and sightseeing. Raglan’s Mount Karioi is easily accessible, offering superb views of the surrounding countryside and for some, a more challenging off road run. With four day-care centres, four primary schools, and a high school in the district; families are well catered for.
