Role

A General Practitioner (Family Medicine physician) is sought to join this well-established South Island practice. You will be working 8 sessions (4 days) per week with some on call commitments.

We are seeking a doctor who is committed, honest and a good communicator.

Benefits

A competitive remuneration is on offer for the successful candidate. Transport, accommodation and car assistance available for first year.  Medical Council registration and medical indemnity costs will be reimbursed by the Practice.

Practice

This privately-owned, medium sized practice is in the centre of Oamaru. Doctors see an average of 20 patients per day and consultations are scheduled for 15 minute appointments. You will be working closely with four GPs, a Practice Manager, three Practice Nurses, a Nurse Team Leader and three Receptionists.  This is also a teaching practice.

Location

Oamaru is a beautiful harbour town located on the east coast of the South Island.  It is a three hour drive north to Christchurch or 90 minutes south to Dunedin. With museums, shops and galleries to explore and some of the best 19th century architecture in New Zealand there is plenty to do in the weekends.  This area has one of the country’s oldest public gardens, two penguin colonies, four golf courses and many walking and cycling trails.  All facilities are available in Oamaru such as; excellent schools, churches, five banks, petrol/service station facilities, swimming pools, dental services, and more.
