Contract: Permanent
Start date: As soon as possible

  • Enjoys the outdoors
  • New modern practice
  • Beautiful South Island location

Role

The practice is looking for a permanent General Practitioner (Family Medicine physician) to work 4 days a week. There is minimal on-call requirements– one weekday per month and one weekend every three months.

The new GP would need to be stress resistant to a degree as work can be very busy. If you are a doctor who is conscientious with a sense of humour and has the ability to relate to a diverse range of staff and patients then this could be the perfect role for you.

Practice

Our practice has a nice and fresh look and feel, we are a young team and all enjoy working in general practice. Working with us will be a joy for any motivated GP.

The practice has 4 GPs, 4 nurses, administration staff and a practice manager.

The clinic is located in the centre of town, in a renovated building with four consult rooms, a nurse’s office and staff room. Southern Community Lab is situated just around the corner.

The practice has an estimated patient roll of 4150. You will be seeing on average 25 patients per day. Appointments are scheduled at 15 minute intervals and the practice is open between 8:30am to 5:30m, Monday to Friday.

Location

The stunning coastal town is famous for its superb limestone buildings, wildlife, and beautiful coastal walks. There are also lovely white sandy beaches close by. The town has plenty to offer such as Art Galleries, Museum’s and great coffee shops to name but a few attractions.

There are also considerable outdoor activities in the area, including fishing in the Waitaki River or the nearby Waitaki Valley Lakes, jet boating and sailing are also available. In the winter season skiing is within easy reach.

There is a good range of schooling available with one of NZ’s main universities a few hours’ drive away.  The town also has business services, library, public gardens, hospital and professional and community services and lots of clubs to cater for all interests.
