Role
We have an opportunity for a dedicated and passionate General Practitioner (Family Medicine physician) to join a practice just North of Christchurch city. We are ideally looking for fixed term GP working 6 to 8 sessions (3 to 4 days) per week with no on-call.
We are seeking a GP with great communication skills combined with the ability to provide healthcare to a full range of people in our community. Complimented with sound clinical and service skills enabling you to fully utilize your experience, we would love to hear from you.
Practice
The practice is located in a lovely purpose-built clinic in Rangiora which was designed with patient and GP comfort in mind. The practice manager describes it as ‘a lovely place to work’, staff are very well trained and the facilities are modern and high spec. They have a minor surgery theatre, large consulting rooms with large windows and a lovely outside area. Training opportunities are available for those staff who are interested.
Location
Rangiora in North Canterbury is a fabulous place for cycling, hills, bush, rivers, beautiful countryside also for running, handy to rivers for kayaking and swimming, beaches plus walking and gorgeous day trips to places like Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura. Rangiora is only 40 minutes to Christchurch city.
Christchurch is the largest city in New Zealand’s South Island, and the gateway to a huge range of activities and attractions throughout the island. It is easily accessible through the international airport and scenic rail services. Christchurch is currently going through an exciting time of development, and inside the city you will find modern, state of the art architecture alongside heritage buildings. You can also enjoy galleries, theatres and ample shopping. Affectionately known as the ‘Garden City’, there are plenty of parks and walks to enjoy. The city is bordered on the east by the Pacific Ocean, which provides long stretches of beautiful beaches, and the smaller bays of Banks Peninsula.
Within two hours of Christchurch you can ski at a world-class alpine resort, play golf, bungy jump, raft, mountain bike, hike, wind surf, whale watch and visit internationally acclaimed wineries and gardens.
