General Practitioner
Reefton, West Coast - view map
Contract: Permanent
Start date: As soon as possible
- Experience in rural setting
- Small town with great community feel
- Stunning coastline, glaciers, and lakes

Role
We are seeking one GP or two GPs (job-share) who are able to work autonomously with a team of three rural nurses. A rest-home is attached to the practice so it would be helpful if the GP had some aged/end of life care. You will be working 1.0 FTE – ten sessions per week with no on-call, but you will need to support rural nurses when required.
Benefits
Travel, accommodation and car are provided for the first month (possibly longer). There is also a relocation package. The practice will cover medical indemnity insurance costs.
Location
Reefton is a small community town on New Zealand’s West Coast region, one hour northeast of Greymouth. A historic goldmining town, which still has a great deal of historic charm. Follow the town’s heritage walk past the Reefton School of Mines, the Courthouse, Oddfellows Hall, and the Band Hall. You may wish to experience the gold mining tours, and see how gold was mined back in the 1880s. Surrounding Reefton is the stunning West Coast where you can experience beautiful native forests, glacier walks, coastal seal colonies and much more.
