This practice is looking for a General Practitioner (Family Medicine physician) or Nurse Practitioner, the workload can be flexible, from 4-8 sessions (2 to 4 days) per week and on-call generally 1:5.

The ideal GP or NP will be an experienced and skilled rural Practitioner with a warm heart and a family orientated approach. If you have a zest for life and enjoy the outdoors then this is the right position for you!


You would be joining a team of five doctors, seven nurses and five administrative staff living and working beside 1.4 million hectares of Fiordland National Park.  The work is enormously varied covering chronic and acute care from preconception to palliative care.  The acute care includes in-clinic work such as acute coronary syndromes and fractures and out-of-clinic work with home visits, PRIME calls and the occasional helicopter flight to various parts of Fiordland and Southland.
