We have two permanent General Practitioner (Family Medicine) roles to start as soon as possible. We are looking for GP’s who have excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgement and a passion for improving and maintaining the health of all patients.

These roles would be suited to GP’s with experience working in rural areas, ideally with some emergency experience. You must be open-minded and interested in learning about the Maori culture.

Sessions negotiable with an on-call requirement of 1:4 weekday and 1:4 weekends.

There are five clinics in the area. You will be based at Te Puia Springs and as part of this team your role will involve being the sole practitioner at one of the clinics.

A competitive remuneration is on offer. As part of the package a fully furnished house and car are provided. The practice will cover medical registration and medical indemnity insurance costs.

Te Puia is a village located on the East Coast region of New Zealand’s North Island, 90 minutes drive north of Gisborne city and a 30 minutes drive from the neighbouring town of Ruatoria. The area is known for its high annual sunshine hours and warm summers.

Te Puia Springs is the only active thermal area on the East Coast. A series of heritage trails runs through this area and for golf enthusiasts there is an 18 hole golf course.

If you enjoy hiking, kayaking, fishing, tramping and all things outdoors the East Cape region is the ideal place for you.
