Role
This Southland practice is looking for a permanent or fixed term General Practitioner. The role is for 2 sessions (1 day) per week with on-call of 1:6. The ideal candidate will work well in a small team and be supported by nurse and admin staff.
The ideal candidate will be friendly, caring physician who enjoys working in a team. We are seeking commitment to providing the best possible care to all patients and continually working towards improving and enhancing their skills through professional development.
The practice will provide a three bedroom house and a vehicle for the successful applicant. Medical indemnity insurance and Medical Council of NZ registration will be covered by the practice.
Practice
We have a well-equipped, recently upgraded modern furnished practice in a small country friendly community. There are around 1650 registered patients at this practice.
You would be working alongside our Lead Practitioner who is a very experienced and highly regarded Nurse Practitioner amongst her peers and colleagues. We have two nurses working daily in the practice who all have great skills and commitment to their work.
We offer an extremely friendly, caring work environment and an extremely motivated Clinical and Management team. We always strive to do the best for our patients! Locums and trainee student have always given positive feedback working at this practice.
Location
Tuatapere is a small town in Western Southland, with a population of approximately 650. The Waiau River runs through Tuatapere and the town lies just 8km from the South Coast, looking onto Stewart Island. Invercargill is an hour drive and is home to the regional hospital. There is much to do in the surrounding area, whether you take a ferry to the unspoilt Stewart Island with its clear waters, lush rainforest and sweeping sands, or you venture into the great Fiordland National Park. Not only does Fiordland National Park have many walks through breath-taking scenery, it is also home to spectacular ice-carved fiords, lakes, valleys and pristine mountain to sea landscapes. This location will ideally suit someone who likes the outdoors, tramping, camping, fishing, hunting and boating.
