An opportunity is available to work on beautiful Waiheke Island. If working in a practice where the location has been rated the fifth best destination in the world appeals to you, then look no further.
We are currently seeking a hard-working friendly GP for a permanent placement. You will be working with other GPs, in a warm supportive environment. The role has six sessions per week, with participation in an (on average) 1:4 weekend roster. There is also a requirement for one weekday per week on call. With being classed as a rural practice, alongside acute medical care we have complex and diverse presentations, creating a varied and interesting working environment.
Ideally we are looking for a senior GP who has experience in after hours on-call, PRIME trained, calm and methodical, providing clinical leadership to staff.
The practice is well-resourced and centrally located on Waiheke Island. We are a small practice of around 13 staff with an enrolment of 3500 patients. We take pride in providing the best service we can and actively participate in quality activities with other practices and pharmacies. There are two medical centers on the island and we work closely together for the benefit of the Waiheke Island population and the huge volume of visitors.
This is a happy and friendly practice that strives to go the extra mile to meet it’s patients’ needs and provide a warm and caring environment along with high quality care for all patients. As part of the Waiheke Health Trust, the practice works closely with community services including District Nursing, Palliative Care Nurses and Well Child. We are just a ferry ride away from a large teaching hospital that provides excellent support.
Waiheke Island is a national treasure located in the beautiful Hauraki Gulf 18km from Auckland, and the second largest island on the Gulf. Home to historic sites, wildlife and diverse habitats, the island is an important part of New Zealand’s landscape. Known as a region for its many wineries and vineyards, Waiheke offers a relaxed lifestyle and friendly community. Auckland City is only 35 minutes away by ferry (departing every half an hour), where there are all the attractions of city life.
