We are seeking a GP for a Wellington based practice which is situated in a purpose-built clinic in a lovely village shopping area. The clinic has ten consulting rooms and generous nurse treatment areas. This is a modern primary care practice with a vibrant team, who pride themselves on their superb environment and working culture of personalised quality care. It is a Cornerstone, RNZCGP quality accredited practice and a GP training practice.
The practice is GP owned, and employs 11 GPs, 1 GP Registrar and 7 Nurses. Enrolled patients number around 11,500 registered- of mixed demographic. GPs see around 10-12 patients per session, in 15 minute appointments. This vacancy is 4 days per week, plus one evening clinic.
The core focus is on primary care services for the local community with strong nurse support. Minor surgery, joint injections, occupational health/medicals, coil/contraceptive implant fitting, travel medicine are all also provided at the clinic.
The clinic is conveniently located in a shopping area near the local commuter rail station at the southern end of Upper Hutt valley, 20 minutes’ drive from Wellington City (the capital of NZ). It is at the foot of the tramper’s paradise- the Tararua Ranges, also home to some of the best cycling tracks in the country.
The suburb is located near the picturesque Hutt River surrounded by rural areas, parks and reserves. Enjoy the best of both worlds, with easy access to native forest and riverside walks, swimming, fishing, and river kayaking, hunting, gliding, and tramping. Just a stone’s throw from Wellington there are a wide range of cultural and entertainment options on offer too.
