Avondale is a suburb of Auckland City, located west of the CBD. Commonly referred to as part of West Auckland, Avondale offers many advantages: the suburb is just 10 kilometres from the CBD, five kilometres from Eden Park and a short drive from the most stunning western beaches. It is also 5 minutes’ drive to a lovely beach in Green Bay, a big shopping Mall and supermarket in Grey Lyn, some great cafes and little shops in Titirangi, it even has its own racecourse. It was originally called “Te Whau”, which is the common name, of Māori origin, for Entelea arborescens, a native tree.
