We are seeking a permanent or long term GP for a centrally located, privately owned medical practice in a popular holiday location. You will be working 8 sessions per week and on call is 1:4. If you are a GP with a sense of humour, familiar with emergency/urgent care and used to a busy practice then this is the role for you.
A three bedroom house and vehicle available.
This is a very busy rural practice where you will be working with a great supportive team. The staff includes four other General Practitioners, six experienced practice nurses, administration and frontline staff. The practice holds a PRIME contract and provides its own 24/7 cover. Two acute clinics run daily at noon and 5.00pm for urgent cases. This is a well-equipped, cornerstone accredited practice.
Whangamata is located in the stunning Coromandel region and is renowned for one of New Zealand’s most popular beach resorts. It has a population of 4000, swelling dramatically to 80,000 plus during the holiday periods. Move here for the best weather in the country, with temperatures ranging from mid to high 20’s in the summer. This region is famous for its unique combination of beach and forest. The spectacular ocean beach provides some of the best surfing breaks and yet the safest swimming in New Zealand. A number of off-shore islands can be seen from the beach. Hauturu or Clark Island is accessible by wading at low tide and is popular in summer months for rock-pool fossickers and kayakers. There are a number of clubs, restaurants and hotels, which are able to provide meals, refreshments and entertainment for visitors.
