We are seeking a GP for a permanent position in a well-established general practice in Whangarei. This is a thriving and busy medical centre and the vacancy has arisen due to the retirement of one of their long standing GPs.
The centre provides general practice care, with a pharmacy adjacent. Lab-tests, x-ray and physio are also within a short drive. This is a Very Low Cost Access funded clinic with a diverse patient population, including a high proportion of young, with over 80% under 65. The practice has around 8500 registered patients of mixed ethnicities.
The practice works with the Health Care homes model, and provides care by a booked system, as well as a GP triage service. High importance is placed on training, development and education for staff.
The clinic has a collaborative culture and excellent support is provided by the Clinical Director or Nurse Manager. The practice employs an experienced team of clinicians with a broad range of expertise and experience. The five GPs meet regularly to discuss and review cases.
The practice is open Monday –Friday with no late nights or weekends.
A lively and picturesque city, Whangarei is the gateway to the beautiful Bay of Islands, and only a two hour drive from Auckland, New Zealand’s capital city. The region is famous for its stunning beaches, lush native bush, tropical climate and relaxed lifestyle.
While providing the comforts of a city; great food and grocery stores, arts and culture, excellent schools and sporting facilities, Whangarei manages to maintain a friendly, small town atmosphere. The city’s marinas are of a very high standard, and the development of the Town Basin has brought yachts from all over the world to moor here, bringing an international flavour.
The clinic is located in a suburb of Whangarei located close to picturesque beaches and coastline. It is ten kilometres north of the city centre, close to the beautiful Whangarei Falls.
